The Philosopher
The Philosopher read Vedanta. Heard about Jainism. Read Gandhi. Read Buddha. The Philosopher enjoyed Chiken Tikka.
It is a sin to harm any being.
The Philosopher became a vegetarian.
I dont harm any being.
But is not killing vegetables also violence?
The Jain texts answer this - vegetables feel less pain.
I do less violence at least.
Then he read more on Buddhism.
It is not bad to eat animals who have died naturally - as no violence is involved.
The Philosopher is confused. The desire for that taste, is still strong.
Then he met a Muslim girl. She was a vegetarian.
What! A Muslim, a young girl, a vegetarian!
The Philosopher is dumbfounded.
Why?
"Because I feel pity for the animal."
