Day OneThe Discussion is about the long queues at Tirupati temple. One has to wait for hours to get a "darshan" - a look of the deity. I have been there. The temple is probably the richest in the world - counting the donations, etc.
Me - It is a waste of time to spend so many hours in heat and sweat in the long queues, pushing each other, just to get a small glimse at a black statue. It lasts a few seconds. The statue isnt particularly beautiful, and we have seen it so many times in photographs.
Others Mostly silent.
He - Umm.. Uhh..
Me - It would be much better to move around the beautiful hills, the trees. The surounding area is so beautiful ! God is there maybe, not in the statue. I didnt feel any divine presence, I dont think that is God.
He - Well, aah.. that cant be true. Itne saare log galat nahi ho sakte.
Probably he didnt feel any divine presence either. Maybe so many people cant be wrong. Perhaps.
Day TwoMe - Well I finally got tickets for Ghajini.
He - Cool..
Me - In the rush, the way people were fighting for the tickets, it reminded me of you..
He - Why?
Me - It was only yesterday, you said - Itne saare log bewakoof nahi ho sakte.
