Joy

The joy of reading philosophy is not just in the conclusions,
but in the activity of clear thinking itself.

The joy of reading a great book is not just in the story,
but in the exact words, sentences,
punctuation, spaces the author used;
the sound of words he produced.

Form is content.

Music is best enjoyed with eyes closed.

Great art gets better with time.

If for nothing else, life is worth living for art alone.

Money

The God

Not even great men, when poor, are loved as much.
Not even coins are thrown into wells without expectation of a return.

Men bow to dead stones, when promised that wishes will be granted.

The Devil

When acquired unfairly, there is produced a self-loathing, which is appeased by donating - thus balancing the equation.
